Florida Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees Resources

FSU employees are subject to applicable provisions of Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees contained in Part III, Chapter 112 of the Florida Statutes, which includes restrictions on soliciting and receiving gifts and honoraria, doing business with one’s own agency, employment or contractual relationships that conflict with public employment, misuse of one’s public position for the benefit of ones’ self or others, and other related requirements. The FSU Office of Compliance and Ethics provides oversight, guidance, and reviews related to compliance with the Florida Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees.

Additionally, specified university employees are required to annually file a Statement of Financial Interests (Form 1) with the Florida Commission on Ethics, along with other financial disclosures, such as the Quarterly Gift Disclosure (Form 9). Employees to whom this requirement applies will be notified by the Office of Compliance and Ethics of filing requirements.

Employees are encouraged to contact the Office of Compliance and Ethics with questions regarding the requirements of the Florida Code of Ethics or related transparency requirements.
